George Monbiot and Advertising
I’ve never had much time for George Monbiot. Although lauded as some kind of truth-seeking maverick, his writings are often full of sloppy reasoning and immature posturing.
This piece from David Thompson takes Monbiot to task on his article about the evils of advertising. The great thing about it is that it not only demolishes Monbiot’s argument in an articulate and intelligent manner, but also does it with humour. Which, quite frankly, is much more than the original piece deserves.
